Itinerary

The Yarra Valley, located 40 minutes drive from Melbourne, is the nearest premier wine region to the city with central CBD departure. Visitors can experience the delights and hidden gems “The Valley” offers.

The cool climate is ideal for growing grape varieties, including Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Shiraz, and sparkling wines.

The Yarra Valley has a long wine-growing history, dating back to 1838 when European settlers arrived. However, the area has always been abundant and essential to the Wurundjeri and Boonwurrung Aboriginal people.

The region’s favourable conditions, including its location, soil composition, and cool climate, make it ideal for growing vines and producing abundant local produce from the surrounding farmlands.

The Yarra Valley Wine Tours start with a chocolate-tasting experience. This destination offers beautiful orchard and valley views. European chocolatiers are present, crafting over 400 types of chocolate. You can buy these chocolates as gifts or enjoy a coffee or homemade ice cream from the café.

St Hubert’s winery was founded in 1862 and helped establish the region as a premium wine-producing area in the 1960s. They are known for their exceptional Cabernet Sauvignon and produce Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Roussanne. The winery has expanded its portfolio to include reserve wines such as Sparkling Rose, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Munier. Visitors can now enjoy a premium tasting experience at their contemporary cellar door. The quality of the tastings will impress guests.

Guests can enjoy their free time in Healsville, a beautiful township. Lunch can be grabbed during this time, and the gateway town to the Yarra Valley can be explored. The tour is designed to provide a local perspective of the Yarra Valley rather than just going from winery to winery. Exploring the local shops, galleries, cafes, and restaurants in Healsville is recommended, although this will be at the guest’s own expense.

We visited two more family-run boutique wineries for tastings. Our schedule changes based on group size and availability. Some of our favourite cellar doors stops in the Yarra Valley are Yering Farm Wines, Medhurst Wines, Yering Station, Killara Estate, Napoleone Cider & Orchardbar, Rochford Wines Yarra Valley, Helen & Joey’s Wines, and more. Relax in the country while enjoying a glass of wine and a great selection.
